Neighbourhood organizers
attend RCCCD's evening celebration
From Shaughnessy to the Downtown Eastside neighbours came together on a memorable evening
About 150 people from a variety of neighbourhoods attended RCCCD's Sep 9th 2017 celebration [See handbill below]. The evening, MC'd by Alicia Barsallo, included addresses by organizers from twelve different neighbourhoods, as well as from organizations speaking for tenants and the homeless. There was also live music and Peruvian food. Attendants danced to the tunes of two amazing rock bands: "Fiction" and "Tumblin' Dice", and enjoyed a wonderful guitar solo by virtuoso Rene Hugo.

A FUN EVENING
FOR NEIGHBOURHOOD CONTROL
Vancouver municipal elections are on Oct 20, 2018
DO YOU KNOW WHO TO VOTE FOR?
Let's celebrate our neighbourhoods' efforts
to take control
of city development
Unbridled speculative activity has caused the price of housing
to rise to levels that make decent living conditions hopeless for most.
While corporations make millions, we lose rental housing, homelessness increases, and our city loses more and more of its green space.
We need to work to elect a city council that lets communities - not speculative capital - determine where buildings get erected and for what purpose. Otherwise, our city will continue to transition from beautiful to unlivable.
Tell your friends to check out this website (www.votelivablecity.ca) to find out our elected councillors’ voting records, and determine how to vote at election time.
